Annual projections are a basic Hellenistic and medieval forecasting technique described by Vettius Valens and Claudius Ptolemy. The method is based on a step of 30 degrees (exactly one zodiac sign or one house) for each year of life lived. At the time of birth (age 0 years), the 1st house of the chart is activated. At 1 year the projection moves to the 2nd house, at 2 years - to the 3rd house, and so on. At the ages of 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, the profection returns to the 1st house, completing the 12-year cycle. The planet-ruler of the sign into which the infection occurred at a particular age is proclaimed “Lord of the Year” (chronocrator) and becomes the main character in all transits of that year.
How to read and calculate annual projections
1. Definition of an active profiling house
Formula: (Age) mod 12 + 1. For example, at 27 years old: 27 mod 12 = 3. 3 + 1 = 4th house (focus on home, family and real estate).
2. Determination of Lord of the Year
If the 4th house falls in the sign of Scorpio, the ruler of the year becomes Mars (traditional ruler) or Pluto.
