What is synastry (synastry chart)
Synastry (from the Greek syn - together, co- and astron - star) is a method of comparative astrology in which the natal chart of one person is projected on top of the natal chart of another on a single concentric bi-wheel. The inner circle traditionally represents the card of the owner (partner A), and the outer circle - the card of partner B. Synastry reveals two key layers of interaction: 1) Inter-aspects (interplanetary angular distances: conjunction of the Sun with Venus, opposition of Mars, etc.), showing the nature of psychological sparks and resonances; 2) Overlay of houses (synastric accentuation: which houses of partner A the planets of partner B fall into), showing which life spheres the partner activates with his presence.
How to Read and Interpret Synastry
1. Luminaries in synastry (Sun and Moon)
Connections and harmonious aspects between the Suns and Moons of partners are the foundation of warmth, mutual understanding and long-term union.
2. Personal planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars)
Mercury is responsible for interesting conversations without arguments, Venus for aesthetic attraction and romance, Mars for initiative and passion.
3. Social and higher planets
Jupiter gives support and faith in the partner, Saturn tests the union for strength and discipline, and Uranus, Neptune and Pluto bring transformation.
4. Partner planets on your cardinal axes (Asc, MC, IC, Dsc)
Having an alien planet conjunct your Ascendant or Descendant creates an instant feeling of being “your person” and a powerful emotional hook.
5. Projections of planets into partner’s houses
For example, your partner’s planets in your 4th house make you want to build a common nest, in the 2nd they stimulate joint earnings, in the 10th they advance your career.
Synastry in the Astroprognostic interface
Astroprognostic builds an interactive two-layer SVG bi-wheel with support for rotation, zoom and 1-click leading map switching. When you hover over aspects, the exact orbs and names of the planets are highlighted, an interactive house cross-overlay table and an interaspect matrix with filtering by major and minor aspects are available.

Frequently Asked Questions
What orb is accepted in synastric aspects? ▼
In synastry, more strict orbs are used than in natal: for major aspects of the luminaries (Sun, Moon) - up to 5°–6°, for personal planets - up to 3°–4°, for higher planets - no more than 2°–3°.
What to do if tense aspects (quadratures) predominate in the synastry? ▼
Squares create a powerful initial attraction, passion and do not allow partners to get bored. If a couple has awareness and maturity, tension is successfully sublimated into joint projects, business and sports.
