What are planetary transits?
Transits (Latin transitus - transition, passage) is a fundamental method of dynamic astrology that compares the current real position of the planets on the celestial sphere with the fixed coordinates of a person’s natal chart. When a moving transiting planet forms a major aspect to a natal planet or crosses the house cusp, the corresponding area of life is activated: external circumstances, meetings, opportunities or crises arise. Transits of fast planets (Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars) form the everyday emotional and event background, while transits of slow planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) determine global life cycles and turning years of fate.
How to read and analyze transits
1. Scan of slow planets (Jupiter - Pluto)
Determine which natal houses the distant planets enter into and which aspects form - this is the foundation of the events of the year.
2. Transits to cardinal axes (Asc, MC)
Conjunctions with the Ascendant and MC produce radical changes in external status, career and physical body.
3. Aspects to the luminaries (Sun and Moon)
Transits to the Sun affect will, vitality and social recognition; to the Moon - home, family, health and emotional stability.
4. Retrograde phases and loops

What orb is used for transit aspects? ▼
For transits of slow planets (Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto), a strict working orb of 1°–1.5° is used (the event peak occurs when the orbit is less than 30′ arc). For Jupiter, an orb of up to 2° is allowed, for luminaries - up to 2.5°.
Can transit create an event without confirmation in the directorates? ▼
According to the law of the astrological hierarchy, transit without confirmation in a slow forecast (directions and progressions) causes only a psychological mood or a small everyday episode, but not a large-scale cardinal event.
What is more important: the sign of the transiting planet or the house where it ended up? ▼
