What is the transmission of light in astrology

Transmission of light (Latin Translatio luminis, English Translation of Light) is one of the fundamental horary configurations of the completion of a situation (perfection), described by medieval Arab and European astrologers. It occurs when there is NO direct converging aspect between the major significators of the querent and quesite (or they have already separated), but a third, faster planet (most often the Moon or Mercury) is first separated by a major aspect from one significator and then, before leaving the sign, adds a converging aspect to the second significator. A fast planet literally “transfers light” (energy and impulse of action) from the first participant to the second, ensuring a positive outcome of the case through an intermediary, lawyer, friend, realtor, or an unexpected set of circumstances.

Practical Guide

Criteria for true light transmission

1. Speed of planetary movement

The transmitting planet must necessarily be faster than both significators (the most frequent transmitter is the Moon).

2. Cleanliness of the channel (no frustration)

Until the completion of the aspect with the second significator, the transmitting planet should not encounter an aspect with a malefic or another planet on the way (prohibition).

3. Preservation of the sign

The transmission of light must occur within the current sign of the transmitting planet, without ingression into the next sign until the culmination of the aspect.

4. Intermediary identification

The house ruled by the transmitting planet and the house of its physical location show who exactly will help resolve the issue.

Engine Features

Detection of aspects and connections in Astroprognostic

The Horary Astroprognostic engine calculates the mutual angular velocities of bodies with Swiss Ephemeris precision, ranks the order of future contacts of the Moon and fast planets, allowing the astrologer to instantly see the presence of transmission or collection of light (Collection of Light) without manually recalculating degrees on paper.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How is transmitting light different from collecting light (Collection of Light)?

When transmitting light, a fast planet moves between two slower ones. When gathering light, both significators aspect one common, slower planet (for example, Jupiter or Saturn), which acts as a judge, boss or arbiter.

Does the transmission of light give results if there is opposition between the significators?

Yes, the transfer of light can reconcile even conflicting parties, but through an intermediary it will require a lot of effort, compromise and energy expenditure.
