What is a cosmogram in astrology
A cosmogram is the position of the planets in the zodiac signs and the aspects between them at the time of a person’s birth, without reference to a specific time of day and geographic coordinates. The cosmogram does not include the grid of 12 houses, the Ascendant and the MC, since their calculation requires precise time accurate to the minute. The cosmogram shows the deep psychological foundation of the individual: innate temperament, motivations, talents and internal conflicts that are not tied to specific external circumstances.
How to read a cosmogram without houses
1. Balance of elements and crosses
Counting planets in Fire, Earth, Air and Water reveals the leading energy resource or quality deficiency.
2. Position of the nucleus (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, Venus)
Shows a person's thinking patterns, reactions, preferences and emotional triggers.
3. Aspect configuration
The aspects between the planets in the cosmogram are unchanged throughout the day (with the exception of the rapid movement of the Moon by ~12°).
4. Chains of dispositors
Determine the center of motivation: which planet is the final ruler of the entire psyche.

The coordinates of all planets from the Sun to Pluto shift by less than 1 degree per day. The only exception is the Moon, which moves about 12–13° per day. Therefore, a cosmogram reveals 90% of a person’s character.
