What are declinations and parallels in astrology
A traditional natal chart displays planets in only one coordinate - celestial longitude (in a 360° circle). However, the planets also deviate north or south from the celestial equator - this is the Declination coordinate. When two planets have the same declination to the north or south, they form a Parallel aspect (the effect is similar to a close conjunction). Different signs of declination form a Counterparallel (the action is similar to the opposition). Planets with a declination greater than 23°26′ are called Out-of-Bounds (OOB) - planets outside the normal range.
