In the astrological tradition, the Fixed Stars are considered to be the conductors of the supraconscious, collective and fatal programs of human destiny. The royal stars of Persia (Aldebaran, Regulus, Antares, Fomalhaut), the guiding Sirius, the sacred Spica or the formidable Algol (Head of the Gorgon Medusa) exert a powerful influence when they are in exact conjunction (with an orb of no more than 1°–1.5°) with the natal luminaries, personal planets or Ascendant/MC axes.
Rules for reading star connections
1. Strict connection orb
The influence of a star is taken into account almost only in conjunction with a longitude with a minimum orb (up to 1°, maximum up to 1.5° for stars of the 1st magnitude).
2. Guide planet (nature of star)
Each star is endowed with a planetary character according to Ptolemy: Sirius is the nature of Jupiter and Mars, Spica is Venus and Mars, Regulus is Mars and Jupiter.
3. Connection with luminaries and corners
The stars show their greatest fatal power on the Ascendant, MC or in conjunction with the Sun and Moon, bestowing sudden glory or trials.
4. The height of moral choice
The stars do not forgive compromises: giving a person colossal power and luck, they demand the highest ethical purity (violation of the rules leads to a fall).
